Re: DUMP1090 running on an UMTS connection

Easy

Use netcat (or similar) to forward the local interested ports to your public IP address of your server...

I have this done with a mobile connection that uses NAT - and it works a treat.

Cheers

Re: Exception Preventing loading even after reinstall

Hi John I think its an issue with your database - i also have this issue as i run VRS under a VM, and sometimes my VM platform goes a bit wonky. Find your basestation.sql location - and there will be a lock file there. Delete the lockfile, and VRS should start! You will obviously loose basestation d...

Re: Signal Level not displaying

Hi Terry Glad to hear its working! Regarding the phase-enhance switch, like you, i failed to find out what it actually does, however, I seem to remember reading somewhere on a forum that it made a bit of a difference on faint (distant) hits... I think that i started testing, but failed to reach a co...

Re: Signal Level not displaying

Hi How do you call dump1090 on your RPI? Mine is called via :- ./dump1090 --ppm 24.9 --net --enable-agc --quiet --aggressive --modeac --phase-enhance And i simply make sure that the receiver in VRS listens on port 30005 - and i get the signal level displayed. Perhaps your receiver in VRS is set to u...

Re: ADSB# Multi dongle

Hi hatter1951 I use the method you describe without any issues. I have 3 dongles feeding into my VRS server, one dongle on a Big Co-Linear antenna to get all the far traffic, and two dongles on standard antennas on each side of my house to catch the low level local traffic. I have a dedicated ubuntu...

Acarsdec Integration

Hi Andrew

Would it be possible to inject the output from acarsdec into VRS?

You could hover over the a/c and see the last reported message for instance??

I am receiving loads of them (not that I understand what 90% of them mean!)

Cheers!!!

Re: New CHEAP LNA

Thanks Jon I am soon to be moving location, and will be looking to finally mount my CoLo outside, so am thinking of the best way to go about doing it. How do you overcome the loss on the antenna cable to the antenna (i imagine it will be around 8 - 10m)? Will this preamp be any use at the dongle end...

Browser Performance Issues when viewing LARGE feeds

Hi Andrew My setup is as follows : One Lenovo Intel Core Duo Laptop running Mint17 (about 4 years old) and running Firefox. I also have a 6 month old lenovo i7 laptop (32gb RAM, 16 cores, bonkers performance) with Mint17 running. When viewing my own local feed, roughly around 150 aircraft, the perfo...
