Re: Change maps

Have you tried running in offline mode? There is a tick box on the VRS server screen. If I remember correctly that allows you run without a internet connection and without displaying the google maps (you won't get photos or route updates etc either). Adding "?notOnline=1" to your VRS URL should have...

Re: Some Aircraft Not Showing on Map

Not all aircraft transmit their full location details only their callsign, squawk and altitude. When that's the case they will appear on the list and not on the map. Most military, police and many light aircraft fall into that category. It is possible to get them to show on the map but you need to u...

Re: Route processing stalled?

Unless Andrew has changed things I don't think there is an automatic "route processing" component to stall. Andrew applies the updates manually. Depending on how busy he is it can take a few days (occasionally a week) for submitted updates to be applied and propagated back out to users via the stand...

Re: A lot of Routes are incorrect

It often happens this time of year. Many (most) airlines change from Summer to Winter timetables around the time clocks change from daylight savings time to "normal" time. Flight numbers can be re-used for new routes when the timetables change. This is probably particularly true of charter flights. ...

Re: Firefox 46.0 breaks menu button...

just like to add a +1 on this.

after a few days away for the bank holiday my Firefox updated to 46.0.1 last night and now my menu button menu doesn't display. The menu is still active and you can 'guess' where the right option is but it a pain to use.

Re: Editing db to change Civil/Military

I am pretty sure VRS doesn't use the UserString4 or UserString5 fields from the basestation database for anything. The civil/military distinction is determined by the modes codeblock as highlighted above. This is part of the standingdata database, so if you change or add your own entries they might ...

Re: "Species"

If you want to display coloured side profiles specific to the operator you might like to look at this thread http://forum.virtualradarserver.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=815&hilit=squadron I actually use the "aircraft class" field to hold my custom silhouette code (operator code + type code; eg BAWB772...

Re: "Species"

If you are referring to the species field shown on the VRS reports, I think that comes from the internal "standing data" database and is determined from the ICAOTypeCode for the aircraft. [Aside: slightly confusingly the ICAOTypeCode is displayed in the "Type" column on the report list view but is c...

Re: Missing CMB airline code

I think the reason CMB is listed as an airline code is that is it not a 'real' airline. The code is used by various civil companies doing charter work for the US Dept of Defense. There are no defined routes for the call-sign, the same code can be used for different routes by different civil airlines...
