Re: Offload Images to another server

Been looking into it a bit more. The aircraft images use almost no bandwidth. They're cached pretty quickly. It's the images of the aircraft that are being generated for each aircraft. Every time it rotates or changes altitude the image is regenerated based on the URL. They can't really be cached an...

Re: Offload Images to another server

Currently mine is running on a windows VM on a co-located box in a local datacenter using a vpn link back to my home network so that it can access some of the remote sites. A growing number of our receivers are on tall masts in the hills that we have 15-30km wifi links with, but they don't have any ...

Offload Images to another server

Hi, Just wondering if it would be possible to set it up so that you could host the images on an external site. At the moment my VRS page is doing about 200gb of traffic a month with only a handful of viewers. 200gb in Australia is a lot of traffic on a co-located box. Looking at the stats this mostl...

Re: Missing Airports

Thanks a lot! I've made up a list of all the Western Australian airports and included all of the info you needed. Not sure what format was best, so here is an excel spreadsheet and a html document with the data. http://plane.watch/VirtualRadar/wa_airport_list.xlsx http://plane.watch/VirtualRadar/wa_...

Missing Airports

Hi, We have a lot of small regional airports around here at various mine sites. It won't let me add routes for them because they're not in the database. YBXB - Barrow Island YTGT - The Granites Airport YNRV - Ravensthorpe Those are just some of the ones I can remember off the top off my head, I've n...

Re: Have you ever gone outside to see a plane you were track

I live right under the main flight path for YPPH. I regularly check my VRS to see what just flew over head, or what caused all the light in my house to disappear for a moment as the shadow of a plane crosses my house. I ran out once in my pyjamas because I saw a US Navy Poseidon on the radar and saw...

Re: Plane.Watch

Thanks. Yeah, it will start picking up again now. There are a lot of early morning flights to all the mine sites. Cool. That would be awesome. It's amazing to see how many flights are around Europe. We're trying to find locations up north for some very remote receivers using 3g/solar power. A lot of...

Plane.Watch

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share our local merged feed with you guys. http://plane.watch We've got 9 receivers going at the moment, most of them are overlapping though we're looking to expand further out into the state. Western Australia is a pretty quiet part of the world, so we don't see anything ...
