You need to add a proxy server like nginx in front of VRS to make it https-capable.

I have the same problem with my database. Radio Active had an unrelated, off-topic problem concerning a firewall issue, you asked about a firewall and said you had the same problem. The original issue is a problem with manually updated entries being overwritten, despite that setting being disabled....

FR24 boxes seems to send non-crc checked data on port 30334. Use the utility "beast-splitter" to filter out the bad data using an Rpi.

The small click-in connector on the side of the cheap RTL sticks is an MCX-female, so the pigtail you need should have an MCX-male. Preferably an angled MCX-male, to reduce the load on the connector. You need to convert the JSON structure into the fields and formats VRS expects.

I have done that for another data source using jq, in a bash script running on a Raspberry.

The principle is

Database Writer "updates" some existing records when option is disabled

Using

"Save Onlne lookups..." enabled
"Overwrite details..." disabled

But still many of my corrected records gets overwritten with the old, faulty data which is coming from the online lookup database.

Op codes disappear, Operator names gets changed back to outdated info.
