Issue with version 2.4.1.36568 on RPi

Initially, the new release failed with "SQLiteConnectionStringBuilderWrapper does not implement ISQLiteConnectionStringBuilder" and I had to use the fix in https://forum.virtualradarserver.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=757 to get around this. Since then, everything looks good. I like that the map is now Ope...

Re: VRS on Pi - start at boot and run in "back ground"?

I asked this question some time ago and was introduced to the "screen" command. On the rare occasions that I have restarted the pi, I connect in with putty and then ... screen mono VirtualRadar.exe -nogui next... ctrl-a crtl-d and the process is left disconnected. You can log out and walk away. If y...

Re: Preview build 34526 throws an exception

Andrew,

Thanks for the pointer. I followed the update procedure you highlighted and mono is now version 4.6.2.16. Preview VRS is running just fine on my RPi3.

Cheers,
Martin

Re: Preview build 34526 throws an exception

If you bring your Mono installation up to date Oh dear and I had been doing so well up until now. The Raspbian repository seems to offer me Mono 3.2.8 and I cannot see how to get Mono 4.4. As is generally the case when I stray into the Linux world, Googling has managed to confuse me further. Do I h...

Preview build 34526 throws an exception

I want to try the latest preview (2nd Jan 2017). I downloaded it and unpacked it. It starts fine but throws an exception when I browse to either the main site or admin site. [2017-01-08 08:30:35.806 UTC] [t1] Program started, version 2.4.0.34526, build date 02/01/2017 19:10:52 UTC [2017-01-08 08:30:...

Range circles on Aircraft detail "Map"

I have range circles enabled and these display fine on the main map. I also use the "Map" item in Aircraft details. The range circles don't appear automatically in this Map item. I have to deselect and reselect "show range circles" and then they appear. Not a big problem but perhaps an easy fix?

Re: autorun mono

I was unaware of the Screen command. Very useful and better than crontab for my purposes. Thanks Andrew.

Re: Web Admin Plugin not saving receivers

Marcus, I don't know if this helps but... The first time I used the WebAdmin plugin and tried to administer the system through a browser, I failed to notice that I must save each section when I made a change. What I was doing was configuring Receivers and then Location and then Merge and then someth...

Re: autorun mono

Using Andrew's fine Linux installation notes, I am successfully up and running on a headless RPi3. Due to my lack of Linux experience I too struggled with how to get VRS to run independently. After googling around I chose to create a crontab entry to start VRS at boot. Everything works fine but, I d...

Re: Problem with displaying tracks for MLAT aircraft.

Andrew, I have been running the latest Preview version with the fix for my problem of an aircraft's track getting stuck. Watching helicopters doing circuits all below 1000' here at EGBJ, I am pleased to report that now the helicopters all seemed to be pointing roughly the same direction as they are ...
