FR24 Receiver generates bad messages

when taking in Raw data from the FR24 hardware receiver, it reports thousands of aircraft at once that don't appear on the display, but if I connect to the SB port, the plane count seems correct, but the Bad Messages skyrockets. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Receivers - What's Everyone Using?

Unscientific comparison, but here goes: Tale of two systems- 1. Nooelec 820T2, FA filter, 15dB 5v LNA, RPi B, Dump1090, 1/4 wave ground plane (MaxRad ARDIS antenna trimmed to 1090) at 55'. (receiver is on rooftop, using about 5' RG-174 jumper to FA filter input) 2. FR24 latest receiver, supplied 5dB...

Re: New node w/ odd antenna

added the FlightAware filter today. Seeing improvement. So far, the trimmed MaxRad groundplane beats the collinear and the Franklin hands down.

PTZ camera control

What about a common PTZ protocol such as Pelco D, Sony, maybe a Meade or Celestron telescope control, or all/similar, to output az/el info based on the az/alt data to a cam for us who live near airports? There are several relatively low-cost USB PTZ conference cameras that could be incorporated even...

Delta Loop

Easy to build/test on a 75 ohm barrel adaptor with some solid 22awg copper wire. 10cm on a side. Don't worry about the 'balun" at this frequency. The barrel adaptor does the job. Less noise than a vertical "spider" groundplane. Slightly higher pattern. Works ok. Slightly directional. http://www.amat...

Re: Receiver Rangle

I suspect Alistair is asking about the same thing I have been wondering about. When a user accesses the page, in the map Menu, the "Show Current Location" is set to: "Show current location (51.47000 / -0.60000)" From the server operator standpoint, how do I set the server so that when a user accesse...

Change default receiver location on map

How do I change the default location so that when a user pulls up the page it automatically centers on my receiver location and not:

Show current location (51.47000 / -0.60000)

New node w/ odd antenna

Running VR with Dump1090 on a Noelec 820T2 blue stick, on an Intel Compute Stick near KSAT, with this antenna: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Maxrad-800-MHz-Omni-Directional-ARDIS-Ground-Plane-Antenna-NEW-/201348635313 Not bad for a $8 antenna. Will be trimming it down to 1090 soon. http://99.5.213.235:808...
