Re: ADSB Exchange API

If someone wrote a plugin that could filter data by geographic area, we'd be happy to implement over at ADS-B Exchange. Yes, for now, it's all or nothing! May I suggest to provide rough region filtered data (~ 2500km radius) for a few main regions (USA, Europe etc..) on dedicated ports? That could ...

Re: PlaneAlerter 2.0

Hi Laszlo, As for reducing the AircraftList.json response size, I think that limiting the data being returned would complicate the program, as what you see on the radar is not the same as the data that planealerter is using. The reduction of the data being returned does not require any additional p...

Re: PlaneAlerter --> OverflightLogger

Dear Mac, as I see that you are easily programming. I wonder If you were interested to write a similar program "OverflightLogger" It should write one record (all Json parameters) into a database each time the parameter "Dst" went through a minimum. E.g. the json called with VirtualRadar/AircraftList...

Re: PlaneAlerter 2.0

The only issue I have found is that because it is constantly downloading the AircraftList.json file every second or two, it is using a very large amount of bandwidth. I wonder if it would be possible to modify the program so that you can set your own refresh time, for me I would be happy to set it ...

Can you please help me with query syntax for Aircraftlist.json?

Hello, I appear to be too stupid to fomulate a working query for AircraftList.json. My query: http://kettwigradar.ddns.net:81/VirtualRadar/AircraftList.json?lat=51.3683&lng=6.9404113&fDstL=5&fAirC=EDDL only partially works. I expect to get all planes from/to EDDL within a range of 5 Km. The paramete...

very minor correction: Vertical speed unit.

The unit displayed for vertical speed is "feet/m" that would be free fall, if interpreted as feet per meter according to ISO.
The correct unit is ft/min (feet per minute) is'nt it?

regards

Re: DUMP1090 running on an UMTS connection

I have set up a rebroadcast feed on the pi to push the data to my VRS server at another location. That would be absolutely perfect. Would you mind to explain how you have set up that rebroadcast feed and how hou have set up the VRS side accordingly? I have only limited Linux knowledge, sorry for th...

Re: DUMP1090 running on an UMTS connection

Easy Use netcat (or similar) to forward the local interested ports to your public IP address of your server... I have this done with a mobile connection that uses NAT - and it works a treat. Cheers Mike Could you please give an example of how you made it? Netcat is a powerful swiss army knife and I...
