Re: Suggestion - use OLE/COM output from Planeplotter

Isn't 2003 out of support now? Maybe VB.NET programs developed in Visual Studio can't run in 2003? It's definitely a 32-bit application. http://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1705/24500332210_aeee52e462_o_d.jpg EDIT: Found this statement elsewhere "Visual Studio 2012 is NOT compatible with any OS below Windo...

Re: Add support for AIS message 9

prradar wrote:This is very nice, I wish this can be expanded for all AIS Messages so I can have both ships and plane on one system :D
A lot harder to do, as that would involve decoding over 20 different AIS message formats, so not something I would consider doing.

Re: Suggestion - use OLE/COM output from Planeplotter

do i need the app in any specific place or anything ? or does any specific setting need to be on, in PP. No specific place, no settings in PP. Just make sure PP is processing, has aircraft visible in the list/map, and it should work. Any problems should show an error message: - WAITING FOR CONNECTI...

Re: Suggestion - use OLE/COM output from Planeplotter

Hi, the app dose not seem to connect to my plane plotter, do i need to do something to turn the OLE/COM snizzle on ? What error message are you getting in PP2TCP? Any messages appear where "CONNECTED ON PORT 30003" appears in this screenshot. http://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1497/23928181223_b9d32985d2...

Re: Add support for AIS message 9

In the meantime, if anyone's interested, I've written a quick "proof-of-concept" VB program that: 1. Accepts AIS input on user-defined server address/port. Acts as a client. 2. Outputs any AIS type 9 message as a Basestation MSG3 type message on a user-defined localhost port. 3. It sets the ICAO hex...

Re: Suggestion - use OLE/COM output from Planeplotter

In case anyone is interested - http://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8PduDR3Yig_bUtfN2hNWjBydEE Obviously if you have any concerns about the legality of using this, then don't. All it does is convert the standard OLE/COM output from Planeplotter into pseudo-MSG3 Basestation type messages. Here's a scree...

Re: MLAT

Thanks all. I emailed Bev yesterday for his "ruling", so will wait and see. All I'm doing is using a documented feature in the way described in the PP Help Documentation.

In the meantime, where can I find the Terms & Conditions relating to using the PP OLE/COM interface?

* after callsign?

Sorry if this is an obvious one, but I've searched and can't find an answer.
What is the meaning of an * after the callsign? For example:
