don't know if it has been suggested before, but would be nice if 2 more fields are added to the 'Receiver.json' fie.
the ICAO id and the date/time stamp from aircraft.

hi first of all you must have a decoder running (listening) to the output from the dongle. i verified same with modesmixer seems max polar plot range is limited to 360nm/650km or so for both vrs and modesdeco/modesmixer. piaware has a vague 'more than 250nm'. i live in Montreal but due to many mlat receivers around Toronto, I often get mlat aircaft - specially RJs/ERJs - over 400nm from m...

hi please see my setup, it seems matches your requirements, combines RPi and Windows 7 x64. A. RPi -> 30005 -> LAN/TCP -> Windows 7 : VRS - Receiver AVR/Beast -> Rebroadcast to ModeSMixer -> localhost / UDP / 31007 in RPi i use dump1090-mutability by Joe Prochazka and Beast output on TCP 30005.
