Re: Dump1090 versus VRS - Number of aircrafts shown

I just ran into a similar problem. Started feeding to adsbhub via rebroadcast server of dump1090. There, I see significantly more airplanes. Gaps in my VRS coverage which I never understood do not exist there?!

Greetings

Re: weather layer

Hi, at the end of that file is a section called "Define menu items" // Define menu items var groupedOverlays = { "Global Airspace": { "Airspace": openAIPairspace, "Navaids": tacanVOR, "Airfields": openAIPairfields }, "Global Weather": { "Cloud": aerisCloud, "Rain radar": aerisInfraSat, "Wind" : aeri...

Re: please help with filters for arrival/departures

I had a similar idea, unfortunately with limited success. I define an altitude filter to separate aircrafts at cruising altitude from ones taking off or approaching. But this way I also see traffic of another nearby airport and other low flying things. Nice would be a filter for Vertical speed so yo...

Re: Alternative to planebase.biz?

I've seen 9 new aircrafts today, for none of them there is additional data. The "Aircraft detail online lookup log" is empty. The "Show queues" logfile currently says "Aircraft Online Lookup Queue" Count: 61, Peak, 75 , Dropped 0 Another thing I noticed. The Aircraft detail online lookup section in ...

Re: Alternative to planebase.biz?

That is strange. I have access to the SDM site and e.g. the METAR lookup is working. Firewall settings look good, too. Still, for all newly found aircrafts the additional data is missing.

Alternative to planebase.biz?

Hi,

Our IT departement started to consider planebase.biz a security risk and blocks all connections. Is there another way to lookup aircraft details? If yes, how?

Thanks

Does "lookup aircraft details online" also work offline?

Hi, I had to use my system without internet connection for a while. Now I have a large number of aircrafts without the additional data provided by the online lookup. Is there a way to add these data? Given that we talk about several thousands of records, the solution should preferably be "automatic"...

Re: Analyzing basestation.sqb

No wonder I couldn't find the information when it is in a different database.

Thanks for the fast reply. I will give it a try.

Analyzing basestation.sqb

Hi, I am working on a statistical analysis of the basestation file. While most data are easy to identify, there are some parameters from the reports that I cannot find in the database. Most importantly, where do I find the species and civ/mil data? How do I identify the operator of a flight? What is...

Merge / sync databases

Hi,

I have one dongle that I use alternating with two independent PCs at different locations. How can I combine the two basestation files? My understanding of the merged feeds and rebroadcast servers options is that they only work with live feeds. Any ideas?

Thanks
Thomas
