Re: APFxxxx is assigned routes from AWExxxx

It's because it APF has an IATA of HP and America West Airlines also has an IATA of HP. America West's ICAO is AWE so VRS thinks they're all part of the same family like BAW, SHT and BA.

It looks like America West Airlines is now defunct, I'll retire the airline and that should break the chain.

Re: AircraftList.json questions

VRS does combine the messages from the aircraft with data from other sources for the aircraft list. The map and list only show aircraft in the list, once an aircraft disappears from the aircraft list it is removed from the web page.

Re: List distances wrong when viewed on iOS?

The distances are measured from the browser's location. By default this is the centre of the map but on mobile devices it (by default) tries to use your GPS position. However, you can set a manual position in the same way that you can set it on the desktop if things aren't working there.

Re: Interesting Traffic

Sorry for the delay in replying. If you install the database editor plugin then you can flag interesting aircraft there. There is no master list. What constitutes "interesting" is up to the user. The flag is stored in your local BaseStation.sqb so if you got one of those from someone else you might ...

Re: ICAO Ranges...

Sorry for the delay in replying. If you're looking for Internet resources then SabreJV keeps a list on Bone's site: http://woodair.net/SBS/Kinetic_Utilities.htm

That's where VRS gets its code lookups from, more or less.

Re: Merged feed - single trail?

If an aircraft is present on both feeds then it'll only have one trail. If an aircraft has two trails then it would need to be in two places at once or one of the feeds would need to be making a mistake when decoding the aircraft's position. Mistakes in an aircraft's position still would not give yo...

Re: Port in use?

Sorry for the delay in replying. You do not need to run VRS in administrator mode. It's the web server that's trying to listen to port 80, you set that port number in the installer. Just run the installer (you do not need to uninstall first) and when it asks if you want to listen to port 80 (the def...

Re: A couple of 'simple' questions

Sorry for the delay in replying. The settings are stored in the browser's local storage. If you have private browsing switched on then the browser won't save anything. If you want to continue using private browsing then switch it off temporarily and follow the instructions here: http://www.virtualra...
