Re: Virtual Radar+Apache

Hi g0hww! As a mater of facts there are two different implementations - the first (and older one) which works on vr.telesys.bg does not have a history at all. It just parses the data from port 30003 and generates a JSON file which is sent by Apache to the clients as a response to their requests. Th...

Re: First post

Thanks for looking into this. At some point I may upgrade the 10.04 box, as the LTS support ends in in April 2013, but I can't see that happening in the near term, and I don't like 12.04 all that much TBH but I tolerate it on the laptop, as it came pre-installed.. Running VRS on the laptop isn't an ...

Re: First post

More. I just found out that there are log entries when I exit VRS normally, but not when it crashes in the loop. [2012-07-24 20:37:21.036 UTC] [t7] Plugin Database Writer threw an exception during shutdown: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot call Invoke or BeginInvoke on a control until the wi...

Re: First post

32bit Edit. You mean the distro don't you? I assumed that the VRS and DBW binaries are for 32-bit only so I've only tried running them on my 32 bit Core2 Quad box on Ubuntu 10.04. I could try it all on my Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit laptop too, if it would help with testing, but my aim is to have it running...

Re: Virtual Radar+Apache

Hi Madrigal, I haven't taken a look at his yet after downloading it last night. I did read the readme, and I figured that I had a fair bit of leg work to do to prepare my machine to run it, as I don't even have apache installed yet :) Hopefully I'll have a go with it later. I thought for a minute th...

Re: First post

There doesn't seem to be anything of interest in the config folder after the crash. I may have narrowed it down a bit further though. I've noticed that VRS will not restart even if I exit it normally, after I've configured and enabled the database writer. If I haven't done that, I can start, exit an...

Re: First post

I haven't tried rebooting the machine. Its not that kind of machine :P The stdout from VRS whether it runs (for hours) or instantly bombs out when restarted is just this: libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk length libpng warning: Incorrect bKGD chunk length I've pasted the stack trace that I found ...

Re: First post

The log file just shows the started and working folder lines when it falls over in the restart loop. When I've seen stack traces they have mentioned cairo, but that's been on the first 'expected' crash from the initial run and not on the instantly failing cycle of doom from the restart script.

Re: Virtual Radar+Apache

I actually want to run it myself. Its the source I'm after, please :) Edit. OK, perhaps I was being stupid. I grafted the path from the earlier post onto the other IP address in the link you just posted, and got me a tarball, from here http://87.97.249.103:8001/vr/vr-linux.tar.gz Now to see what I c...

Re: Virtual Radar+Apache

This looks very interesting. I'm having some issues on Linux with the regular VRS, so I'd love to try this version. I can't find a link though. Happy to help test, even eager in fact, as I have the day off and have nothing better to do than play with ADS-B databases :P
