Re: ISP Private IP Addressing Breaking Rebroadcasting

There's no way that you can put your site up onto the Internet through your ISP's NAT. There's nothing anyone can do about that - the only way to get around it (or at least, to get around it without spending money on a static address or renting a server) is to dump your ISP and go with one that doe...

Re: ISP Private IP Addressing Breaking Rebroadcasting

AFAIK this is now fixed in the new "Push" system that was introduced in version 2.1.0. I have many feeders on mobile and fixed networks with no "real" IP address. I believe that Dmitry over at VRS Russia has many feeds via this route as well. Cheers Jon Could you expound what "no "real" IP address ...

ISP Private IP Addressing Breaking Rebroadcasting

Many ISPs running low on IPV4 addresses have resorted to private IPs to the modem with one Public IP as a gateway to many modems (Customers). While conserving the IPV4 they have remaining it renders the modem unable to set ports for games and running local servers like VRS, Mongoose and DDNS service...

Ability to Add Line of code to Display Below VRS Link

Internet user frustration looking at what is presented turns off the 99% who don't know how to configure their browser to see what the Rebroadcaster had in mind for them to see. As Andrew said it will take a bunch of javascript to change anything short of throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Fo...

On Server 2008 you need to enable the service "SSDP Discovery" to enable uPnP.
I saw the SSDP Discovery on XP and Win7 and it was set to manual but evidently enabling UPnP starts it.

Thanks for the tip.

Re: Getting uPnP to work

UPnP requires enabling. Modem/routers provided by ISPs many times do not enable it and make it hard to find by using different usernames and passwords to expose advanced settings requiring you to manually forward ports pointing to the machine which has VRS running. Microsoft does not start the UPnP ...

Initial Browser Encounters

Web statistics show a person spends 2 minutes or less on a webpage. With VRS rebroadcasting we currently do not provide a View that is configurable by the Rebroadcaster presenting the information a viewer initially sees. We present initially, aircraft on straws and the Swiss Army knife configuration...

Exception Recovery: Working Configuration.xml Win7

If you have made a bad choice in the /tools/options of VRS, VRS may not load but display a list of error messages. If you are presented with a chance to reload defaults you may be dismayed that information is reset and you may not have that information at hand you used to get VRS working initially. ...

Re: Exception Preventing loading even after reinstall

Hi John WRT re-install, did you remove the VirtualRadar directory in the \user\appdata\local\ directory as well? This should remove all the configuration settings from previous install and allow a fresh start. HTH Jon Did install in new directory, same error. Uninstalled previous install and cleane...

Re: Exception Preventing loading even after reinstall

Hi John I think its an issue with your database - i also have this issue as i run VRS under a VM, and sometimes my VM platform goes a bit wonky. Find your basestation.sql location - and there will be a lock file there. Delete the lockfile, and VRS should start! You will obviously loose basestation ...
