Have you set your SQB location (the 'change' button, top left) to point to your basestation.sqb file?

This is what mine looks like:

Re: PBLink and VRS

I also use PBlink to update my database - I've been running it successfully alongside VRS for 4 or 5 months.
PBlink2 (along with PlaneBase2) is very well supported by the developer with frequent s/w updates and weekly updates to the look-up databases.
I would highly recommend it.

Re: DUMP1090 gain setting.

On a related note, can anyone explain the difference (if any) between the settings "--gain -10" and --enable-agc" ?
dump1090 --help merely gives:
--gain <db> Set gain (default: max gain. Use -10 for auto-gain)
--enable-agc Enable the Automatic Gain Control (default: off)

Re: Problem getting mode-s data...

It looks to me that you have the Data Source incorrectly set to 'Basestation', whereas rtl1090 output is in 'Beast binary' format. If you change the 'Data Source' for your receiver to 'AVR or Beast Raw Feed', then (assuming your antenna/receiver are picking them up), you should start to see some air...

Re: dump1090 resolves more a/c than VRS

Hi John, The markers are airports - blue for civil and magenta for military. I generated them using the custom content plugin as described in this thread: http://forum.virtualradarserver.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=418 ... however it wasn't straightforward and caused me some considerable head-scratchi...

Re: dump1090 resolves more a/c than VRS

Thanks for your comments, Jon. VRS being conservative in its decoding would certainly explain the discrepancy ... perhaps it may be just a little too cautious? I've since compared the displays from both dump1090 and VRS, with adsbScope, which is running on a 'passthrough' rebroadcast from VRS - the ...

dump1090 resolves more a/c than VRS

As stated in the thread title, my browser display output direct from dump1090 (on a Ras Pi) shows more a/c on the map than VRS - see the screen-shots below (I've put red circles around the a/c that dump1090 shows that are 'missing' from the VRS display). Re: New CHEAP LNA

That VBFZ-1065+ is a very neat looking filter, however at around £32, it's a little more than I'm prepared to spend for experimenting/testing ....... hence I'm planning to build a filter using the circuit and calculator on this site: http://www.raltron.com/cust/tools/band_pass_filters.asp I'm curren...

Re: Signal Level not displaying

Hi Mike, Now sorted thanks to your post - the problem was the port assignment for the Pi in VRS pointing to 30002, which is the raw output from dump1090. Changed it to 30005 and I'm now seeing the signal levels displayed in VRS :D On another note, I see that you use the 'phase-enhance' switch - I've...
