Problem DL'ing Flags/Silhouettes

Post by caphab1 » Sun Apr 10, 2016 4:18 am

Hello All!

Fresh to the ADS-B world but am excited about it! I did get VRS up and decoding with ADSB#. Heres my issue though.. I want to see the silhouettes and flags but when I attempt to open the downloaded zip I get an error that the file is damaged or corrupt.

"You can download silhouettes and operator flags from Kinetic's website here: http://www.kinetic.co.uk/resourcesdownloads.php"

That is the line I see all throughout the forms. If someone has a better link to download the packages for the same content from this page that would be awesome!!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, that Kinetic page is nice when it's working but it's not entirely reliable :)

I've uploaded ZIPs of the operator flags and silhouettes that I'm using to:

http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/Fil ... rFlags.zip

and

http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/Fil ... uettes.zip

Hopefully they should be enough to get you up and running. I can't remember where the operator flags came from but the silhouettes are definitely Ian Kirby's. Bones has more operator flags here but bear in mind that VRS defaults to 85x20 pixel flags, so the last two sets on the page won't work without JavaScript changes:

There is an updated step by step instructions and valid links for zips with various flag and silhouette options in this post viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1237#p6362

Valid as of December 2016. Eventually link-rot and updates will make it wrong, but it's good for now.
