Are you having trouble getting Virtual Radar Server installed and running? If so then this is the place to ask about it.

Can't use Pi as reciever

Post by Domestos » Mon Aug 29, 2016 12:07 pm

Halloo
I am a total noob to all of this so bear with, bear with.
I have installed VRS on windows 10 and I used the wizard in tools/options/preset configurations to point at my Raspberry Pi running Piaware and Dump1090. When I press the test connection button a dialogue box opens, it says "a connection cannot be made with these settings. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.1.7:31001
Can someone help?
Can I run both Piaware and feed VRS at the same time?

Thanks in advance....

Jim

Looking at Piaware's documentation it looks like they're sending a Beast format feed on port 30105. Assuming that 192.168.1.7 is your Pi then I think you just need to change the port to 30105, make sure that the format is set to Beast / AVR and I think you should be good to go.

Also try port 30005 as that is often used by dump1090.
