Odd Google Maps API key behaviour

Are you having trouble getting Virtual Radar Server installed and running? If so then this is the place to ask about it.

Odd Google Maps API key behaviour

Post by Pidea » Sun Oct 30, 2016 4:01 pm

I've set up a public test server on running on Windows and I'm seeing odd behaviour with the Google Maps API key.

If I put the key into the Tools > Web site > Google Maps API key field, save and then restart VRS the key isn't picked up. Looking in the Chome web developer console I get a MissingMapKey error and no map appears.

However, if I use the Custom Content plugin to insert the key then it works but I get the following warning "You've included the Google Maps API multiple times".

It seems that the official way is broken and that the work around isn't working properly either.

Is there a way to define the Google Maps API key without throwing errors in the Javascript console ?

Just in case anyone comes across this, the problem was down to a custom script and not the Google API key.

Yes indeed Andrew, thanks for your help identifying it.

Just need to try and work out why the code throws up that error.
