Hello Community,
My Setup:
i have a Rasp Pi2, Dump1090 and a remote hosted VRS.
The Rasp Pi2 is placed on an ATC Tower.
My Problem:
I see many heavy aircrafts, but no light aircraft (small cessna, piper, etc..).
They are in the list, but not on the map.
But:
The internal Dump1090 Website is showing that light machines on his own Map, but VRS does not.
Any Ideas?
Thanks!
light aircrafts not visible on map
Re: light aircrafts not visible on map
Hello Fabian, it sounds like the small aircraft aren't transmitting their full location only their callsign, squawk and altitude. That's why they will appear on the list and not on the map.
To work out their location you'll need to MLAT or Multi-LATerate them using a series of receivers. Whereabouts are you ? I run an MLAT network that may be able to help ?

Re: light aircrafts not visible on map
Thanks for reply Phil. I am located in Germany.
I want to monitor the traffic circuit of a small airfield. Altitudes from 500 to 2,000 ft, max. 10 miles out.
