Problem with COM1 port

Post by Jack » Tue Jul 25, 2017 12:26 pm

Hello everybody.

I have got a SBS-3 (Kinetic) connected to my PC by USB. I want to use Virtual Radar Server with this device but when I test serial connection, it displays an error message. It says: "A connection cannot be made with these settings. Se ha denegado el acceso al puerto COM1".
Are there anyone who knows this problem?

I've never tried connecting VRS to an SBS-3 over USB. The USB stuff was written more for things like MicroADSB sticks (when they were a thing). In both cases you need to install a USB<->COM port driver so that VRS can talk to the USB device over a COM port.

If you can connect the SBS-3 to the network then you can get the raw feed from it over port 30006 without having to install anything else. Alternatively if you really need to use USB then you could try Sergsero's Mode-S Mixer, from the looks of the options it appears to be able to connect to USB sources:
