Are you having trouble getting Virtual Radar Server installed and running? If so then this is the place to ask about it.

Installations failing

Post by juangelb » Mon Dec 31, 2012 12:44 am

Hi AGW

In doing VRS installation on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Web Server edition and VirtualRadarSetup tryes to install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
and stops with a messagae telling to use Functions Management Tool to install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
But there is not that option... and Server already has .Net framework 4 installed ...
Would You have some hint or advice on this issue ?
Thanks in advance : Juan

You can try running VRS with just 4.0 installed, I can't say that I've tried it. It's only the .NET 3.5 installer bundled with the VRS installer that's bringing up that message.

However if you need to get 3.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 then the instructions are here:

Hi AGW
It is running at http://186.193.233.58:8080/virtualradar/GoogleMap.htm
This is a virtual server running in a datacenter and connecting to port 30003 of a remote computer trough the internet.
This remote computer is located in a building near SBSP airport and there i have a sealed box at the top of the building
containing a radarbox + an Ubox (USB server), since there it would be needed an very long coax cable running till the computer.
I have an SBS-1 , but this one i run in my house..
Now i will try to install DatabaseWriterPluginSetup ...
Very funny all these toys !!!
Thanks a lot for share your work !

Cheers - Juan
