bad data from FR24 receiver

Post by Sentry_e3 » Sat Apr 23, 2016 7:27 pm

Hello

i'm currently trying to solve an "issue", which is in fact a constant spam of maybe radar test signals or jamming (vrs is listening to a FR24 receiver). The only thing i found to make these things disappear is to filter them with "species IS NOT NONE". Their icao hex are constantly changing except few ones which stay few hours. If you have any other solution it would be great.

Regards

Are you getting a cooked feed from FR24 or a raw feed? If it's a raw feed then you can fiddle with the ICAO validation settings at the bottom of the raw feed decoding settings options to tell it to ignore ICAOs until they've been seen so-many times over such-and-such a period.

However, if you're getting messages from the same ICAO for minutes at a time then those settings aren't going to help, sooner or later VRS will accept them as a valid ICAO and start showing them.

Mine at least is coming in via Compressed VRS format. I assume the ICAO settings you mention will do no good in this case, correct?
