VRS Crashes After a Few Hours

Postby Sniper296 » Thu Jul 27, 2017 1:43 am

I setup dump1090 (mutability fork) and VRS on my Raspberry Pi 3 with an RTL-SDR, however it was completely locking up the system (pwr & act light solid) after an hour or two. No system or VRS logs said anything about why.

After leaving htop running in an SSH session, I discovered both the RAM and pagefile were being filled by VRS. So I connected an external HDD and added a 32GiB page partition.

After a couple of hours, it still crashes. Just the process this time. The log file mentions an out of memory exception. (Will upload a clean log file next crash)

Searching the forums there is mention of SQLite DB corruption, however both pragma quick_check; and pragma integrity_check; return okay.

System info:

Raspian Jessie
Kernel 4.9.39-v7+
Mono 5.0.1.1

VRS 2.4
Web Admin 2.4
DB Writer 2.4
Custom Content 2.4
DB Editor 2.4
VirtualRadar.exe.config applied

VRS fed by dump1090 & pub-vrs.adsbexchange.com:32005
VRS feeding feed.adsbexchange.com:41000 from dump1090

Systemd ExecStart /usr/bin/mono VirtualRadar.exe -nogui

It ran fine for several hours overnight, but after using the DB editor, it crashed within an hour or two.
