FR24 & FA radar boxes

Post by Radio Active » Thu Mar 29, 2018 5:56 am

I have a small number of feeders that feed to my VRS that use Flight Radar 24 and Flight Aware receiver boxes, now when the data was attempted to be sent in Beast raw 30005 format VRS started to display aircraft that don't exist on the list panel, it seems VRS has trouble dealing with MLAT hex timing data that seems to be superimposed on 30005, is there a way around this or stick to the 30003 base station port as the fix?

VRS supports all of the Beast formats as documented here:

http://wiki.modesbeast.com/Mode-S_Beast ... ut_Formats

VRS strips off the timestamp if the format has it.

OK, something is not quite right, I can PM you the the site so you can see what I see happening (I hope), I have personally developed a messy way fix for this feed due to it's remote location.

FR24 boxes seems to send non-crc checked data on port 30334. Use the utility "beast-splitter" to filter out the bad data using an Rpi.
