Is Virtual Radar Server not behaving itself? If so then please report it here.

I am not sure if this is a bug in the new version or because I upgraded my iphone software to IOS 6.1 but since upgrading I cannot get my iPhone to access the desktop version of the page that Virtual Radar Server generates without crashing. I don't ever use the mobile version of the page because I like to see the aircraft list and map all on one page. It loads but whenever I pinch to zoom into the aircraft list it crashes. I have no problems on my iPad viewing this page just on the iPhone. It has been working fine for a long time until I upgraded the server and my iOS software on the phone so maybe it has something to do with 6.1 and not the new version of the server?

Hi Brandon

I can't reproduce this issue on my iphone with ios6.1 and vrs 1.2.0. Maybe you have to delete the temporary files under settings -> safari. Restart the device from time to time is also a good idea. You could also try to open the page in chrom. You can get the app in app store.

I just noticed that the problem occurs nevertheless but only if I zoom extremely close into the aircraft list.

My problem was also occurring when I zoomed into the aircraft list however after following the tip to delete the browser cache the problem seems to be resolved. It is not crashing for me anymore now.

And just as I post that the problem seems to have been fixed I am having it again. It worked one time long enough for me to start setting up my custom columns and then it did not work anymore. Now it is crashing again whenever I zoom in to the aircraft list to select the options menu to finish setting up my colums. Can't get to it...it also crashed one time without me zooming in...just loaded the page and let it sit there. I deleted the cache again and still have the issue.

I've had a go with it on my iOS 6 iPad and I'm getting the same result, if you zoom in on the desktop site's aircraft list then the browser starts eating memory until iOS shuts it down. The same thing happens in both Safari and Chrome, although as they're both based on the same code that's not too surprising. As this seems to be a recent problem my guess would be that the change in Google Maps version may have something to do with it. I'll have a play and see if regressing back to the previous version or advancing it to the bleeding edge version fixes it.

I'm using v1.20 but getting many crashes with unhandled exception error due to bad message format. I thought bad messages were now always ignored in this version hence no user option?

Just installed v1.1.2 with bad message option enabled but still get the unhandled exceptions?

That was the intention :) It's a bug, bad messages will cause VRS to display an exception about it and disconnect from the source. It's fixed in the version under development, the intention is to release it this weekend.
