SAVE web settings

The "to-do" list for Virtual Radar Server is as long as my arm, but if you want to pile more work onto it then this is for you.

SAVE web settings

Post by stargatex » Sun Jul 02, 2017 2:11 pm

One of the main shortcomings for the latest linux version (yep I using the web only with nogui) is that the settings are stored on the client side until the browser is restarted (cache is cleaned). It's ok that there is no user management but couldn't you please put in a SAVE button.

Also I have notice that the device itself running vradar has to be able to connect to the Internet for the client to load the plane pictures like: ... 160402.jpg

Why can't it just pass the link to the webclient like the google maps images.

I don't understand the first part of the question - the settings are stored server-side. Or are you talking about the web site rather than the web admin plugin? The web site stores settings in local storage, but you can give the server a JSON string that describes all of the settings and the server will push those to new browsers, which will work after you clear local storage on a browser. Instructions are here: ... l-settings limit the number of aircraft thumbnail searches that you can do over a given period of time. The server caches the lookups and shares them between all browsers using the server, rather than having each browser eat into's rate limit.
