Overriding Standing Database

I think most of us know about the CodeBlock Override function, which overrides entries in the standing database to manually define an aircraft as civ/mil and which country it is from. We had a discussion in our group yesterday about different people running different reports and using different filters to show the preferred aircrafts. We thought it would be useful to also override an aircrafts species (or maybe even other details) the same way. Using a local txt file to override the data in the standing database which is generated by the aircrafts modelcode and ICAO8643.

Another approach would be to allow more criterias when running reports or filters on the live map. More like allowing multiple ICAO or species like "ICAO is not XXXXXX" AND "ICAO is not YYYYYY" or "species is helicopter" AND "species is gyrocopter" AND species is "tiltwing". Using "species is not landplane" to show all rotary wing aircrafts does not always give the desired results, since radio masts or ground vehicles would not be filtered out..

Would this be possible?

The species etc. all come from your local BaseStation.sqb file - if you want to show different details for an aircraft than those offered by the aircraft lookup then just set them in there (and tick the flag to say that you don't want updates applied to BaseStation.sqb).

Having a more comprehensive filter mechanism is already on the list of things to do.
