WebAdmin page is empty

Postby roadfun » Fri Jun 09, 2017 9:33 pm

I have successfully be running the "Linux" version on MacOS for quite awhile and other than the random mono crashes it works well. I wanted to move it to an Ubuntu server instead. I've run through the Linux install procedures a few times without success. I can bring up the main page ttp://127.0.0.1:8080/VirtualRadar/desktop.html. However when I try to open the admin http://127.0.0.1:8080/VirtualRadar/WebAdmin/Index.html so I can configure it I just get a blank page.

Maybe the problem is obvious but I've been beating my head on the wall a while trying to figure this one out. To be clear I am following these instructions http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/Mono.aspx. Thanks.

EDIT: when I say I get a blank page I think I should clarify. It looks blank in the browser, if I ask to see the page source it is empty. Also, I am not prompted for a admin name and password. Makes me wonder if auth is broken.

EDIT2: I should also note I am running NGINX rather than Apache on the Ubuntu server. Just dawned on me, and maybe this is causing the issue. But I'm not sure where to look.

I'd start by making sure that the path and filenames are the correct case. I think WebAdmin/Index.html is right, just make sure you're actually typing that in :)

If you're not getting any source then it does sound a bit like authentication is going awry. If you press F12 to get the browser console window up, then switch to the network tab and refresh the page - what does it show you? You should get a 401 response to the request for Index.html and the response should have the WWW-Authenticate header in it.
