I'm running 2.02 on opensuse 13.2. The latest rev looks a bit scary to install. Can I just install the latest VRS in a new directory so i don't lose the version that works. It seems to me all the files are unique, but you never know.

The installation procedure hasn't changed between 2.02 and 2.31, whatever you do for 2.02 is going to be the same for 2.31. However! Yes, it should work - except both of them will be using the same configuration folder. Newer versions don't usually do anything to knacker the configuration file for older versions but you may want to give them separate configuration folders just in case, particularly if there's any chance that you might be running both versions simultaneously.

The configuration folder can be specified from the command line with the -workingFolder:<path to configuration folder> switch. That switch will be present in 2.02 and 2.31. Note there's no space around the colon.
