Unable to access WebAdmin

Post by eurolocke »

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and pretty much unexperienced. I am currently trying to run VRS on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2 with the OS Raspbian GNU/Linux 8.0 and facing problems.
Many of you may know, that opening the Options window instantly makes VRS crashing, so the workaround to pursue is running the Web Admin Plugin. In order to do that I was first creating an admin user in VRS via the following command:

Code: Select all

mono /home/pi/VirtualRadar/VirtualRadar.exe -nogui -createAdmin:admin -password:password
But still, I am unable to access the Web Admin Plugin getting the following message:
  • Parsing command-line parameters
    Initialising the log
    Initialising user manager
    Loading the configuration
    Starting picture folder cache
    Opening the BaseStation database
    Loading standing data

    Connecting to data feed
    Starting web server
    Starting rebroadcast servers
    Initialising UPnP manager
    Initialising online lookup manager

The Mono vesion that resulted after executing the command

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install mono-complete
was 3.2.8, so I first wanted to upgrade on 4.8.0.495 following the instructions ("Debian, Ubuntu, and derivatives"): http://www.mono-project.com/docs/gettin ... all/linux/
This let to the following message during its installation after running the last command "sudo apt-get install mono-complete"
  • sudo: Hostname raspberrypi kann nicht aufgelöst werden
    Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
    Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut.
    Statusinformationen werden eingelesen.... Fertig

Mono's version did not change and trying to run VRS creating an admin user led to the same message as mentioned above.

Could you help me out in this case? I would really appreciate. Resetting the whole system including OS did not help yet. If you struggle with understanding the german letters let me know, I will change to english then.
Many thanks. Laurenz.

It looks like the XML serialiser is running into problems when it tries to serialise a floating point number. I'm fairly sure (but I'll need to check, I'll add a Trello card for it) that the XML serialiser always uses the invariant formatter so that floating point numbers are stored and loaded using the decimal point separator rather than the computer's regional separator (i.e. it'll save and load 1.23 as 1.23 and not 1,23)... but either I'm mistaken on that or Mono has (or had) an issue somewhere.

I'll let you know once I've had a look at it and tried to reproduce it.

I have exactly the same problem. Set up a new Rpi3 with Raspbian via noobs, installed Mono as described on this page but cannot get into the options to set up the server.

Are there any news on this issue?

EDIT:

Okay, after updating Mono and using the latest Preview Version everything works as intended!
