Adding a URL

Post by crazyrider22 » Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:06 pm

Hi all,

I have a domain on for my server which is:

ea-radar.co.uk

To access to the VirtualRadar I need to use the follow url

ea-radar.co.uk:8080/VirtualRadar/Index.html

However I would love to be able to use:

ea-radar.co.uk/VirtualRadar/Index.html

How would I go about doing this?

Regards

Scott

Well, is there another web server operating on this machine? I.E. if you go to http://ea-radar.co.uk do you get a page?

If so, then the answer is easy. Create a virtualradar folder under the web root of that server, and in it create an index.html as follows

Code: Select all

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://ea-radar.co.uk:8080/virtualradar/index.html" />
</head>
<body>Forwarding</body>
</html>
if there isn't another web server on the machine, go into the virtual radar server options window and choose "Web Server"

Check the two checkboxes for "Reset port assignments at startup" and "Put server onto internet at startup" and set the UPnP port number to 80. Hit ok, and then close and restart the vrs server. It now should respond on port 80 to requests without any need for the 8080 part.
