The route lookup finds AWE routes (US Airways) when no suitable APF route is found.
APF = Amapola Flyg (IATA code HP)
AWE = US Airways (IATA code US)
I can't see why, they have nothing to do with each other.

APFxxxx is assigned routes from AWExxxx
Re: APFxxxx is assigned routes from AWExxxx
It's because it APF has an IATA of HP and America West Airlines also has an IATA of HP. America West's ICAO is AWE so VRS thinks they're all part of the same family like BAW, SHT and BA.
It looks like America West Airlines is now defunct, I'll retire the airline and that should break the chain.

OK!
While duplicates seem to be allowed with special limitations, IATA currently only list Amapola under HP, that is why I couldn't find the connection.
(AWE seems to have aquired HP from Hawaiian Pacific way back in time, according to Google.)

Re: APFxxxx is assigned routes from AWExxxx
Do you have an example of an AWE callsign that returns an APF route?
Re: APFxxxx is assigned routes from AWExxxx
It is the other way around, most APFxxxx callsigns returns old AWE routes.
APF673 KBWI-KPHX
APF674 KJFK-KPHX
APF2842 KSDF-KCLT
APF4329 KPHL-KUNV ∞
APF192 KMCO-*-KSAN
APF3134 KPVD-*-KCMH
They don't show up on SDM searches.

Re: APFxxxx is assigned routes from AWExxxx
Thanks for that, the issue was that the program that was building the file of routes that gets downloaded every night was not checking to see whether the airline involved in the route had been deactivated.
I've fixed the program and checked that it's now excluding deactivated records, things should sort themselves out after tonight's build of the route file (somewhere between 23:30 and 01:30 UTC).
