If it's saying "BEE217*" then that means that the callsign is uncertain. There are two ways that VRS picks callsigns out of messages - one of them is guaranteed to work but the other one can sometimes produces the wrong result. If the callsign was obtained using the latter method then VRS displays an * against it to show that there's a chance that it is wrong. However you can usually tell that it's wrong without the asterisk, it will be gibberish.
