VRS will show the tower icon for any aircraft records that have an IcaoTypeCode of "-TWR".
Hi,

my question is, how can I identify radar stations.
Are this self created entries?
A3 ADS-B Antenne | FlightAware Pro Stick | 1090Mhz Filter | Raspberry Pi 2 B
Dump1090 | PiAware | VRS

They are not really radar stations, the real radars does not emit anything on 1090.

Most probably they are test/calibration points for radar and/or multilateration systems. As they are on fixed points, they could be connected to an automatic check that gives an alarm if the test point is not detected in it's correct position by the radar.

And yes, most of them can be spotted easily and then we edit the database to reflect their special status.
