Merged feed - single trail?

Post by dozer302 » Thu Oct 25, 2018 9:56 pm

Hi there,

I have a merged feed of 2 sources and is it possible to only show one trail from an aircraft and not both trails from the merged source overlaid ?

I have the .js plugin mod installed.. but no ideas where to start.

If an aircraft is present on both feeds then it'll only have one trail. If an aircraft has two trails then it would need to be in two places at once or one of the feeds would need to be making a mistake when decoding the aircraft's position. Mistakes in an aircraft's position still would not give you two trails, you'd just get one trail with some erratic positions on it.

If you only want to see the aircraft's trail as picked up by one of the receivers then change the receiver on the web site away from the merged feed and to the receiver that you want to view.

There are problems with the trail on MLAT planes. In the merged feed, at one time one MLAT plane, there are different coordinates, so the trail looks intermittent or even lost. Maybe in future versions to make some kind of algorithm to draw a mean-arithmetic estimated trail.

speaking of one plane and two receivers....

How does vrs decide which receiver in a merged feed of about ...lets say 10-15 receivers plots the trail on the map? Is the first one in range doing the job until the plane leaves his range? Or are there some mechanics in vrs to switch to another receiver if it has a better signal or sth. like that?
