Silhouettes breaks the icons

Post by scanman » Wed Nov 20, 2019 9:13 pm

Hi

I have been trying to use the correct coloured silhouettes for each company but when I change, for example, A388 to UAEA388 it change the aircraft icons on the map to the old style and all icons look the same. After I discovered that I went back to the original sqb with the correct ICAO for type and the new style aircraft icons are back.

Then I tried to use the coloured silhouettes in the picture folder and ticked Picture but the silhouettes are way too small so all get blurred.

Is there some way I can use the different silhouettes for each company and still have the new style aircraft icons on the map?

I'm not 100% sure what you're saying but if I had to guess it sounds like you went into the database and changed the model type for an aircraft from A388 to UAEA388, and then the aircraft marker for that aircraft changed from an A380 marker to the generic "type unknown" marker. Is that what happened?

If so then it is because the A380 marker is shown when the model type is A388. VRS assumes that the model type field contains standard ICAO 8643 codes or one of the fake codes "-TWR" or "-GND". Changing it to the non-standard UAE388 code would cause it to show the generic aircraft marker for the aircraft. It wouldn't affect any other aircraft though, just the one you changed.

If the silhouettes are named after the operator ICAO and the model type ICAO - e.g. UAE + A388 - then you could write a custom content script to fetch them instead of the normal type-only silhouettes. If you email me details of where I can download the silhouettes then I can have a crack at writing the custom content script for you.
