Block an IP from connecting?

Hi,

I've got someone who's connected to my VRS instance 24/7 and only taking AircraftList.json. In the last week, they've had almost 80Gb of data from me and the IP geolocates to a country that really wouldn't have interest in the area I cover.

I don't know why they're doing it but is there any way I can block an IP within VRS?

I couldn't find a way so I added a rule to the Windows firewall. That's done it.

Yes, now it works 100%, your VRS is inaccessible from nowhere.

And if there is a need for this, then all this is done on the router, on which you forward the port out.

I had an internet outage overnight, the first time it's happened in well over a year.

It's really frustrating as I have a Pi running as an internet watchdog which reboots the router if I lose the internet but I disabled it while I was doing some testing about six months ago and completely forgot to enable it afterwards. If I'd done that, this outage would have lasted for just ten minutes rather than the eight hours it's been.

My router doesn't support external IP blocking.

I have an IP from Poland constantly connecting and pulling all my VRS data. Very unimpressed. Managed to block with firewall, but seriously, isn't that basically hacking if someone is connecting without asking / without my permission?

ADSB openly allowed people to access their data and provided an API to do so.

People trying to secretly steal data from someone else's VRS site without permission (and without even asking) is completely different.

Still happening - the IP in question is 85.221.129.88 - I recommend everyone checks their firewall and blocks this IP.
