Hi all

New user to VRS, started to use it today and it is a really nice software!

One question tho, I know how to do the reports in Menu-Reports and they display nice, but is it possible to save them as a text file or something so I can go back and watch them later if I want?

Regards
John

You can view reports for any period you want.

If from the main web page you select "Reports" > "Today's flights" from the menu then when the report is displayed select "menu" you have an option to set the "criteria". When the criteria dialog is displayed you can specify whatever to and from dates you want to display flights for that period. Depending on the date range specified and number of flights recorded in your database it might take a few seconds to run but it will return all matching flights.

You can also add additional criteria to show flights of interest to you; click the dropdown to see the options. There are a range of condition options as well - starts with, contains, is, is not etc. So you could set a criteria of callsign starts with "BAW" to list British Airways flights for example.

As far as I know there isn't a way to export/save reports to txt, csv etc. The closest you could probably get to print to pdf if you have a pdf print driver installed (I use PDFCreator but there are lots of other (free) ones). You'd need to set the "Rows" drop down to "All rows" (it defaults to 50 unless you have changed it). Again if you have a large date range with lots of flights it might take a few seconds for the report to run.

Hope this helps.

Charlie

Forgot to mention ...

You can also change the items shown in the report and/or the order they are shown if you want.

On the options/crireria dialog, as well as the criteria settings there are tabs for the "detail panel" settings and "list" settings. You need to click the padlock to unlock the report format but then you can add/remove items or change the order by moving items up and down the list.

Thank you very much Charlie! All sorted out now with PDF-writer.

Now it is only one thing I cant manage to get working and I ask here instead of making a new thread. I dont have any receiver range in my Menu, only receiver range colours but no where to start it... Any ideas?

John

The receiver range is only shown if you tell VRS where your receiver is. If you go into Tools | Options | Receiver Locations, click the + sign and then (assuming you're on Windows) wait for the map to appear. It can take a while the first time in. Then zoom the map out and drag the marker to wherever your receiver is located. Set the name to something meaningful.

Then click on the entry for the receiver and choose your location in the drop-down list for Location.

Then click OK.

After that you should be able to show the receiver range rings and you'll also start getting the receiver range plot.

Thank you very much! I had missed that I had to select my receiver in 1.3 too, after that it is working.
