Could it be related to the large volume of data when I using the ADSB Exchange json ?

Found a workaround, If I increase the refresh rate to 60 secs it seems to work fine

Happy Christmas to you!

My above workaround by increasing the refresh rate while using the large ADSB exchange json feed only prolonged the error. It still occurs after an hour or two but within a few minutes if I leave the refresh rate at 5 secs.

Any chance of a fix for this as we are very close to having a great alert system for MLAT aircraft ☺️
I've tested this on two different systems Win 7 and Win 10 both fully patched for. Net with the same results.

Thanks

Mac

After a few hours and about 800 test alerts I discovered it's an issue where the status text is being updated as it's being drawn to the screen. To avoid this I've made it postpone drawing to the screen while it's changing the status text. New update with the fix and the corrected exe information is up on the website here: http://dom2364.com/planealerter.html
I write software and take photos.

Update: 2JAN2017 - PlaneAlerter 2.0

Post by SkierInAvon » Mon Jan 02, 2017 8:30 pm

DOM2364,

Latest Release of PlaneAlerter (2.0 DEC2016) works great on my Win10 (64-bit) PC. Earlier v2.0 kept crashing after about an hour of running. Latest Version (Dec.) - rock solid! Thanks!
Q.) What actually constitutes a "Condition: IS-Interesting (Is_Interesting: True)" ??
Yes, I configured email alters (am getting them) however not sure what condition "Is-Interesting" actually is...
Curious..it/PA seems to (believe) that American Airlines (Airbus 319's) are (interesting?) for some reason...

Great Work! Great Program!

The Is_Interesting property is taken from the basestaton.sqb database that vrs is using. In vrs, interesting aircraft are highlighted in the aircraft list. You can change if a certain aircraft is interesting by modifying the database directly, or by using the Database Editor plugin in vrs.
I write software and take photos.

Thanks!
During the American Presidential Campaign from a couple of months ago...
I set up (thanks to you) what I called a "Trump Tracker"...when his B757 (N757AF)...flew by.
Anyway, Trump stopped by once during the campaign - at our Eagle County, Colorado Airport (KEGE)
I track the traffic in and out of there with my VRS/RTL1090.
The local media took a photo of Trump with our Sheriff and the Sheriff's wife. (attached jpg)
Obviously, that's Trump's B757 in the background.
Thanks again for a great program.

PS I think the JPG is attached...Forum (barked at me - HTTP error) when I tried to attach the photo...

Hi,

When I add my radarURL, the program crash every time. Do you have any ideas ?
I can write my valid url or "toto", the program crash ...

Code: Select all

L'exception System.FormatException n'a pas été gérée
Message: Une exception non gérée du type 'System.FormatException' s'est produite dans mscorlib.dll
Informations supplémentaires : Le format de la chaîne d'entrée est incorrect.

Can you help me ? I tested on two PCs (W10 and W7)

Thanks a lot !

Olivier

Is it a local URL?
Maybe post it if it is so we can compare it.

I've posted examples a few posts back of mine.
I can confirm that the Latest version is rock solid, I have 2 versions running side by side of a Win 7 machine crunching on the ADSB Exchange API without a single crash.
Previous versions crashed alot for me.
