Seems to be timing out because of the size of adsbexhchange's aircraftlist.json file, I'll add an option to manually set the timeout length in the settings. On my internet (45Mbps) their aircraftlist.json takes 11 seconds to download, I think the default timeout is 10 seconds.
I write software and take photos.

Hi Dom
Thanks for quick reply.
That make sence the timeout as the list of aircrafts is quite long.

How quick can you add that option?
We have a big event this weekend the G7 summit and we want to monitor all military and security aircraft going around the area
Keep up the good work as the Scanningteam is appreciating the application.
We are waiting for the fix

Again thank you

Hi Dom,

Thank you so much for the development of this application furthermore for your prompt assistance with our problem.
Daniel (VA2DG) and I are from the same Ham Radio / Scanningteam and we simply LOVE your application.
(if we put aside the problem we are experiencing)

As mentionned previously, we are hours away for the G7 Summit in Quebec and we hope so much that you can provide a fix in time.

Very sincerely,

Pierre

Just put up a new version, github release page and download is here: https://github.com/Dom2364/PlaneAlerter/releases/latest
Also from now on you won't need to redo all of your settings when you update, all you need to do is replace PlaneAlerter.exe and all of your conditions/settings will be transferred.

Changelog:
Added manual timeout option in settings
Settings will use default value if not found in settings.json (Won't crash when updating versions now)
Added edit button to conditions editor, removed double click to edit
Condition editor is now resizable
Check will cancel if no aircraft are found
I write software and take photos.

Hi Dom,

First, thank you so much for your work !

After several tests, I do also experience several crashes which I would divide into 2 categories:
1) The ponctual crashes which occur on a random basis
2) The functionnal crashes i.e. let's say i make a modification in the conditions, upon savings of these changes and reloading of the updated conditions, crashes will occur over 50% of the time.

If this is something that many others are experiencing, i would recommend to incorporate a "stop search" button that we can activate, make the changes in the conditions, upload and then restart the search.

I am not a specialist; this is just an idea / suggestion,

Best Regards,

Pierre

If you are able to go into the windows event viewer (search 'event viewer' in the start menu) go to Custom Views>Administrative events and either pm or reply the last 5-10 events with the source '.NET Runtime'. Just copy and paste everything from the text at the bottom for each event. If there are too many other events to sort through you can filter the events by going to 'Create Custom View...' on the right sidebar, selecting 'By source' and selecting '.NET Runtime' in the event sources options box (click on the arrow to open the list of sources), then clicking OK. That event info should explain where in the code it's crashing and what's causing it. Also if you can trigger a crash, reply with what you did to cause it, what the program was doing at the time, and the event info from event viewer. I've added a pause/resume button to the todo list, shouldn't be too difficult to implement. Thanks for reporting the bugs as well, without you the bugs wouldn't be fixed.
I write software and take photos.
