Good work, I like the ability to hide properties.

Its crashing though when attempting to send certain email addresses ?
"Error Email to send to is invalid"
Works fine for gmail addresses but not some others ?
The old version didn't appear to have this issue.

All the best,

Mac

Found the problem, it created "" in the conditions file for some reason, I deleted it and it worked fine. Thanks ! :)

I wonder if it would be possible to modify the program so that you can set your own refresh time, for me I would be happy to set it to check every couple of minutes, that would significantly reduce the amount of data being downloaded by this program.
What you surely can do is to include a filter in the call of the json file.
e.g. VirtualRadar/AircraftList.json?lat=51.3683&lng=6.9404113&fDstU=5&fAltU=3000
This kind of filtered json retuns only the flights below 3000ft and in the range of 5 miles from the given location. Accordingly, the json file is quite sleek.

Re: PlaneAlerter --> OverflightLogger

Dear Mac,

as I see that you are easily programming.
I wonder If you were interested to write a similar program "OverflightLogger"
It should write one record (all Json parameters) into a database each time the parameter "Dst" went through a minimum.
E.g. the json called with VirtualRadar/AircraftList.json?lat=51.3683&lng=6.9404113&fDstU=5&fAltU=3000 returns only the planes flying below 3000 feet in a range of 5 miles around the given location. When the dst parameter passes through a minimum, then we have got an overflight over that location that could be recorded.

I am sure a lot of users would love this feature! isn't it?

Hi Laszlo,

If I added a setting to provide position in planealerter, you could do everything that your idea is talking about. Planealerter logs all alerts including all aircraft data in json to alerts.log as well. As for reducing the AircraftList.json response size, I think that limiting the data being returned would complicate the program, as what you see on the radar is not the same as the data that planealerter is using. Planealerter is also designed to alert you when something of interest appears so you can get photos or tell people about it, and if you reduce the range that planealerter can get aircraft, the alert would get sent later and you would have less time to spot it or tell others.
I write software and take photos.

The reduction of the data being returned does not require any additional programming.
Just include the filter criteria in the JSON's URL call and you get a sleek JSON without the planes that are too high, too far or don't have a position.

Its been working well today !

Could you allow the removal timeout to be increased to maybe 3600 secs ( limit is currently 600 ) as I'm getting multiple alerts as low level aircraft drop in and out of signal.

Is it possible to not have the program auto reload the conditions after you look at or change settings, maybe a tick box.

Maybe add a PayPal DONATE button to your menu so we can send you tip ! ;)

Great work and i'm sure the VRS community will get great use from it !

I have tried to change the value from 600 to 3600 in the settings file but it does not allow it
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Value of '3600' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'Minimum' and 'Maximum'.

Added the removal timeout max increase and the donations in the todo list for the next update. With the conditions reloading, it's better to reload everything just to make sure nothing conflicts and everything is updated. It can be annoying when it sends all the alerts again though.
