RebroadCast from Raspberry not working !

Postby xristostra86 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 12:10 pm

Hello everybody.

After I finally got my raspberry pi 3 setup , the next step is to make it a remote vrs station and then rebroadcast it through a host to my central pc / vrs system

I did a nice setup and got my vrs working on local network (except the "not showing google maps" issue but I will mention it in another thread) , and I opened a host name through noip.com. I guess that I did well the port forwarding procedure on ports 80 and 443 and then I made a rebroadcast using the following info as you can see in the image that I attach you down there.

Image

When I opened the vrs in raspberry , it gives me that it is properly sending data but my central computer still "Connecting.." , here are photos from the hoster (rasp remote)

Then I opened "Connection Activity Log" and gave me that message:

Can somebody help me out in order to make it work ? :?:

Thanks in advance

You're pushing the feed to port 80 on the remote machine. Port 80 is the default HTTP port, it's the port that web browsers default to if you don't specify a port when entering an address.

The push receiver at the remote side will have specified a port that it'll listen to, you will need to use that port when setting up the rebroadcast server.

If the push receiver is configured to listen to port 80 then it should be changed to a port that is (a) not already in use and (b) between 1024 and 65535. Ports 1 through 1024 are reserved for use by standard protocols.

Hello , First of all, Thank you for the response.

I don't quietly understood this sentence:

The push receiver at the remote side will have specified a port that it'll listen to, you will need to use that port when setting up the rebroadcast server.

What do you mean ?

I am going to change the push port (on rebroadcast server) from 80 to something else , let's say 6010 (that 99,9% is not used from my network / port closed)

But my host name is only port forwarding ports 80 and 420 (I think) in order to have the ddns name. Does this matter ?

So I will have go to my central host / central pc and set up a receiver that will listen to this port ? (6010) and address (example.ddns.net) and compressed vrs etc ?

Do I have to change any other port to make it work ?
