Feed to VRS

Post by kiwikieran » Thu Feb 22, 2018 5:43 am

Hi all, is there a way to feed from VRS to another VRS? Or feed from DUMP1090 to VRS?
I am setting up a remote Pi Receiver and need away to feed to the VRS server at home. I have tried to port forward but no luck.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks, in advanced.

Easiest way to connect Dump1090 is to use the Wizard in the receiver options: http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/Doc ... tions.aspx

And here how to rebroadcast your VRS: http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/Doc ... tions.aspx

After you set up the rebroadcast options you can reach it in your second VRS instance.

The remote receivers should be TCP clients and feed into your VRS. Dump doesn't support that, but install ModeSmixer2 or make your own with nc back-to-back, pull the data from 30005 and send to your VRS external IP.

Open a suitable port-forward at the VRS server location.

Set up a "push" receiver in VRS.

Done. Now just add more receivers with the same principle.
