Re: PlaneAlerter 2.0
Hi Dom,
First, thank you so much for your work !
After several tests, I do also experience several crashes which I would divide into 2 categories:
1) The ponctual crashes which occur on a random basis
2) The functionnal crashes i.e. let's say i make a modification in the conditions, upon savings of these changes and reloading of the updated conditions, crashes will occur over 50% of the time.
If this is something that many others are experiencing, i would recommend to incorporate a "stop search" button that we can activate, make the changes in the conditions, upload and then restart the search.
I am not a specialist; this is just an idea / suggestion,
Best Regards,
Pierre

Re: PlaneAlerter 2.0
If you are able to go into the windows event viewer (search 'event viewer' in the start menu) go to Custom Views>Administrative events and either pm or reply the last 5-10 events with the source '.NET Runtime'. Just copy and paste everything from the text at the bottom for each event. If there are too many other events to sort through you can filter the events by going to 'Create Custom View...' on the right sidebar, selecting 'By source' and selecting '.NET Runtime' in the event sources options box (click on the arrow to open the list of sources), then clicking OK. That event info should explain where in the code it's crashing and what's causing it. Also if you can trigger a crash, reply with what you did to cause it, what the program was doing at the time, and the event info from event viewer. I've added a pause/resume button to the todo list, shouldn't be too difficult to implement. Thanks for reporting the bugs as well, without you the bugs wouldn't be fixed.

Re: PlaneAlerter 2.0
Thanks for the info, from what I can see from the type 2 events (type 1 can't really be used for much) one of the emails in a condition is invalid. I'll add email validation in the next update to fix that. That should fix the crash happening when alerts are sent. If you can find some more type 2 event info I'll be able to fix the rest of the bugs.
Re: PlaneAlerter 2.0
Dominic
the main problem i do have is not popup with a crash but after 5 min of scan i get the red lines
as you can see this picture , it has been running for 7hours and it did catch planes only from 11h41 to 11h46PM then the error line for every scan .
Popup with crash occur once awhile be i cant monitor for more than 5 to 10 min at a time.
And if i just clear console and Reload Conditions then it stays the same red line after red line.
After closing completely i have restarted and it did work ok for 2 min from 7h07 to 7h09AM and after the 3rd scan red line again and again.
